What I like about (most) vintage florals is that, the closer you go the better the pattern looks. They usually maintain a whimsy as opposed to looking old or messy. Just my 2 cents.
I agree- Florals tend to be the most blah print, but vintage florals tend to be in a league of their own-modern ones usually do look cheap and etail-less.
i completely agree with you guys as well. i have no contemporary floral prints in my closet aside from one insanely comfortable 90s dress i never leave the house in... there's something so much classier about vintage floral prints.
and like you said, this dress went for a lot because it could suit so many different people. really contemporary.
"Fashion" is not Vogue magazine, designers, or trends. Fashion is and should be an important component of the lives of everyday people, and is an important source of history and culture for women in particular. Clothing is overlooked in history particularly because it has historically been a women's domain, but fashion is art, anthropology, culture, subculture, and part of our everyday lives. We shouldn't fear it, as we have been told to, but be enriched by it! Blah blah blah. Mostly this will be photos of clothing I have found. These photos are not mine. I am borrowing them for use. My "main" blog is Rip It To Shreds.
